Frequently Asked Questions
Who will lead/facilitate the cohort?
The cohort will be primarily facilitated by Dave Newton who may be joined by other leaders who have already been through the course themselves.
Are the cohorts face to face?
The majority of sessions are on-line via zoom although depending on the geographical location of the attendees, the final session might be held face to face.
Is there lots of reading and homework?
There are books to read that will help you as you engage with the academy. These are listed below and will need to be purchased or downloaded before the start of the academy. The pre-session homework in between each session is not onerous and is designed to guide and assist your thinking and evaluation as you participate in the academy.
Can two people/leaders from the same church be in the same academy?
Yes. Whilst it can be better if these two are in different academies to ease open sharing, if people are happy to be in the same one that’s fine.
Who will be in the academy?
Depending on numbers – usually pastors and leaders from other churches who are also seeking to develop a DNA of disciple making within their context. This is what makes the cohort meetings and discussions so helpful and valuable.
What does it cost?*
At Elim Training we try to keep the cost to a minimum. The academy is £350 per person. We take a £35 deposit with every booking and this is followed by 9 monthly instalments of £35 or a one off balance of £315.
We take all payments by card as this generally makes the whole administration easier.
*If the fee for the academy is a problem for you or for your church, then please let us know and we will endeavour to help if we can.
